Hi all,

Had a nasty experience yesterday regarding my drivers elec seat.
I put the seat all the way back (away from pedals) and found that I couldn't get it forward again.
There are two front motors which operate the rod and the left hand motor seems to be jammed or the seat seems to be jammed on the track which is not allowing the motor to push the left hand side of the seat forward. I have found a plastic screw/threaded plug that fits into this motor but the space is too tight around it to get a screw driver etc to do it up.
The mechanism works as you can hear the motors wanting to work...I have managed to get the seat forward about an inch but am forced to sit with pillows at my back to reach the pedals.
The seat will go back fine if I were to move it back that recovered inch...but I would have problems regaining it back again in a hurry.
The seats electrically recline fine (up and down).

I was wondering if anyone has ever had this problem or ripped out their front seat before. Even if there is a manual override to get the seat in the position I need I'd be happy.

Anyone's help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Hey Wookie,

I think there is 1 motor that moves the seat forward and back. The threaded rods on each side of the rail are connected together and I think the motor sits between them. The seat is easy to take out, however if you cannot move the seat forward, this may prove to be difficult.

There is no manual adjustment (unless you turn the threaded rods with a socket - but by doing this you will strip the gears and then the electric seat will never work.

I have a spare rail (in storage) that I plan to take apart and to see how it all works but as usual I never seem to have any spare time. If you haven’t sussed it out in a couple of weeks, I might find spare Sunday arvo and fast track my exploration (it’s hard between playing footy, going to the footy and Sunday bike rides).

Cheers

Yiros

Thanks mate.
I will keep you informed of my progress.
With any luck the seat will creep forward inch by inch until I get it to the right position...then I wont be forced to rip it out in the near future.
I appreciate your quick response...I'll let you know if I discover the workings before you get a chance to 'play'!!!

Well managed to finally get the seat into its original position.
So I'm not going to touch it for a while.
No more pillows for me!

Yippie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I actually haven't got around to fix this problem but I am in a week or two.
Have you noticed any white plastic grub screws loose under your seat?
I originally had one come off but I now have two!
My motor works fine but the grub screws are not in to lock it in so there is no drive on the rails.

You will need to pull out your seat and fix the grub screws back in place or replace the motor if it's stopped working.
Hope that helps
Wooks
