hi all.....
i have a nagging problem with my car.......
the problem is that when i accelerate the car moves nice and straight....... but when i put the clutch in or just back off the accelerator the car moves to the left for some reason........
and if im abit shy on the details..... u can ask michael (HARDY) as he has been in the car and has felt this shift....

has any1 had this problem???????

i needed to replace the tyres on the car as the were as smooth as a babys back side (i guess too much :burnout: :burnout: :burnout: doesnt help) ..... and ever since then its happened....... the tyres i put on there were only 2nd hand and 1 has more tread the the other...... but i dont think that would b the cause..........
any info would b great........

:thanku: :thanku: :thanku: :thanku: :thanku: :thanku: :thanku: :thanku:

takecare
Nuno

Possibly a Wheel alignment issue or worn bushes in the rear.

check your tyre pressures - may be down on the left side, pulling the car to the left.

maby book your car in for an alignment of wheels.

see how that goes before going deeper in to the problem

An alignment could find the problem, if its suspension woes I would only go to someone that has a trusted name. Some of these brake/clutch/suspension joints lokk at making minimum grand out of each customer, My 2 cents woth>>
Chris.

Hey Nuno,

If it has only started to do it since you put your second hand tyres on, my money is it's the tyres them selves. You said 1 tyre has more tread which would mean they have a slightly different rolling diameter and this could cause pulling to one side, however I would expect this most of the time.

Did you happen to go wider with the tyres? The wider you go, the car may track (find a groove in the road and follow it). On some roads, my car can be an absolute btich as I am running 265 on the front. This is far too wider and you should go any wider than 245.

hi Andrew
it did only start happening since i put the tyres on.........
and yes it does to shift to the left all the time........
the only thing that changed when i put on the other tyres was the height........ the old 1s were 235/50/18 and the new 1s r 235/40/18.......
i checked the air pressures of the tyres and the right 1 was at 37psi and the left at 30psi........ i put them both 2 32psi and it did fix it abit but its still there....... i think u might b right when u said about the different rolling diameter.........

BTW just so u no......... i dont normally put second hand or retread tires on my car....... i just needed to put them on coz i almost lost my baby as i was doing a u turn and the car all of a sudden was facing on-coming traffic......

takecare
Nuno

Hey Nuno,

Swap your left and right tyres and see if your cars pulls to the right. If it does then you have found your problem.
