As many of you would have probably noticed, there's been a huge increase in the number of MKIVs going around with the new galss euros.

I would assume that most of these new light installs have gone un-adjusted because of the slight difficulty associated with the procedure.

AS I am a complete cluts when it comes to "wires", I was wondering then, how hard would it be make something up like this Mr Yiros? http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/euro_glas...tall/index.html

And, could it be done any nicer so that the controls could be monted in cabin and not look out of place?

Hey Mark,

The system looks pretty straight forward. The hardest part is finding a decent looking 4 way switch to mount in the cabin. The purpose of the 4 way switch is to control two motors for up/down and left/right adjustment.

Do the Euros have motors for adjustment?

I am more than happy to help you out if you decide to go further.

Cheers

Andrew

Mark the electric adjuster is only for up and down to allow for heavy weight in rear of car ,you know like when you have 2x 400lb wrestlers in the back seat (below knee amputees of course )or when towing a car trailer with an F350 on it. The switch is a wheel type so it has variable adjustment. I could have got one when I got my lights but I decided against it. Once I adjusted mine I have had no flashing so I figure they are pretty right. Great for country driving.
Cheers

Oops, I thought there was left and right adjustment also. Either way if you still want to go down that track, it wouldn't be hard to do. The hardest part is pulling the cables through and hiding the wires so it looks neat and tidy (this part isn't too hard it will just take some time).

I can source the actual switches and cable from UK when my mate goes back if anyone is interested. He screws the Local Toyota dealer for prices fairly well as he spends a fair bit with them.

Cheers

Forgot you were a sparky!

Sweet! Toyota Salisbury are importing headlight plugs for me that I may need to splice with my old wires.

Also have Euros with motors in and need to adjust them.

Buy you a carton or several when it goes to sh*t and I call ya bud...

Do you want to adjust them on the go or do you want to set and forget like what Darren did?

Adjustment on the go would be nice, just in case sorta thing.

If it's a four way switch that is required would something as simple as a normal electric power mirror switch do?

Darren, I thnk I know the type of switch you are talking about. My Chaser has just that, a rotating switch that simply goes from 0 to 5 and adjusts the lights up and down. If you can get a price on a Supra one that would be greatly appreciated champ.

Thanks all & Yiros :D

Possibly. All the switch needs to do is make the motors turn in both directions i.e. reverse the direction of current flow. I would need to look at the switch to be sure. Failing that, I would be able to rig up some change over relays that will reverse the direction of current...
