I'm in the process of re-designing my boot space.

as you may know I had the 2 x 10" subs in boot as well as the amp,
they were all just sitting on a flat panel.

I had no space for the spare tyre either.

so I've ripped it all out at the moment, Im going to try and
fit it all in better, including the spare tyre.

might try and get pics on the progress.

I'd be interested in the outcome. In a similar predicament to you...

Keep us posted.

Thanks George,
will do, I seem to have it under control.
just a question,
did you put a divider between your subs or run them out of phase to each other?

you have two subs in your boot as well right?
are they in like a separate air tight box each or both share the one box.

same box. dunno what difference it would make. All i did was read the recommended volume for a sealed enclosure and doubled it. If there is a better way of running it, please let me know :ph34r:

ok got some pics,

the points reflect the pics..

1) an empty boot to work with
[attachment=258:attachment]undefined
2) I want the amp and subs positioned in that way roughly
[attachment=259:attachment]
3) made a base point where the centre section is hinged from
[attachment=260:attachment]
4) the base is bolted to the car frame, found some fixing points.
[attachment=261:attachment]
5) fixed it to the car
[attachment=262:attachment]
6) basic shape of the centre section is complete
[attachment=263:attachment]
thats all for now

I will be starting the sides now.

Looking real good. :claps:

One thing I must add: Invest in some sound deadener for the boot. You will need it.

ha ha, yeah,
all the sh#t that i took out from the previous attempt- I think professionals,
it seems a bit lighter, they used 25mm MDF, im using 18mm/16mm board.

finally finished the basic structure,
it sounds so much better than before!!!
the bass does not distort like before,
now on to painting and sanding and other features to be incorporated.

Looks SCHWEET! But just one question, does it actually lift up? If so where do you grip it to do so? That's one mistake i made when i did mine, i didn't think where to lift it from. It's also so heavy that it'd be almost impossible for me to do myself. :fool:

***update on progress***
well in the week I've been in adelaide and not living out of a suitcase in darwin,
I managed to get some time to start carpeting and fit some of the lighting
installed inside the sub boxes.
starting to look better now.
