Is anyone from the Supra club thinking of entering this event?
I'm happy to assist with any questions if anyone is keen (this will be my 3rd year having a crack at it)
have a look here for entry information
You will need a Level 2 Speed CAMS licence.

and my last run last year when i had a bit of fun :D
next year will light it up even more on my last run on Sunday, my front left "sorta" got "a bit" flat spotted at the CCC Track Day at Mallala when I was having fun again :D
So now "unfortunately" I have a dedicated (& pricey) burn out tyre I will fit for the last run Sunday.
Not having an LSD yet I only need one tyre of course.
The last run on Sunday has, for the last 2 years, turned into a bit of a burn out comp.
hehe, can't wait!

The lic costs about $100 annually.
I have let my Sporting Car Club SA membership lapse, because it is just too damn expensive for what I got out of it. I need to join another. I wish there was a club out the northern side of town.

Yes, as Ben said, getting a (level 2 speed) CAMS licence is just a simple form, fill it in, pay ya cash (approx $115 I think), and good to go.
Yes they will check your membership of a CAMS affiliated car club.
The SDCC (organisers) will allow you to pay $20 for day membership so you can do the event, so you don't need to join another club.
But if you want to run in other events later throughout the year, you will need to get full membership of a CAMS affiliated club (CCCSA is $35 per year and is CAMS affiliated fyi).
and yeah, if you can't make this years event as an entrant, come down on the Sat or Sund to have a look, and see what you'll be up for next year.
There's plenty on utube too.

not spamming it all all mate, got your email thanks, will reply to that today
briefly, SDCC run mostly dirt events, but they do do a couple tarmac event - Mt Alma, and Adelaide Hills Tarmac Rally. I will be doing both :D
CCCSA just have the one private track day out at Mallala, this year we are pencilling in Monday September 24th.
Of course you would be most welcome to join either or both of these clubs, but neither club wants to "steal" you from the Supra Club.
I gather you owuld only be joining these clubs as they are CAMS affiliated, so you can then get a CAMS licence.
Just wanting to make it clear this thread (and the track day thread from last year) are not about stealing members, they are about trying to spread the joy and love around the motorsport and car club community :D
(for the record I'm a member of 3 different car clubs)

Don't think any of us see it like you are trying to steal members, its good to see the different clubs working together especially if it gives us more track days!
Seeming Supra's and Celica's share so much history its good to work together. Can't wait to get out to your track day again this year.

I am a financial member here, and will continue to be as long as I live in the area. I am active on the Soarer forums, but none of those are proper clubs. I like to think I can't be stolen...
(For any business owners looking to sponsor a beat up Soarer track car, I can be bought though. :on_the_quiet2: )
I'll read your email when it turns up.
Back to Mt Alma then.

Yeah Ben, I find every event I enter I have to produce a current CAMS club membership card as well as my CAMS licence.
Maybe some clubs might be a bit more lenient on a track day?
But stictly speaking, yes, no current card, no playing.
Stika - for sure come down mate, free entry, plenty of parking, there's a canteen with food & drinks, the pit paddock is freely open for spectators to wander through and look at cars and talk to drivers and service crews.
Lots of mental machinery there too.
afterthought re sponsorship - get out there.
You need to chase them, sponsors will not chase you.
I have quite a few sponsors for the Stigma of Love myself and 2 mates run, get bugger all out of some of them, but every little bit helps.
Free tyre fitting for example, couple $ off car parts, bend a sheet of steel for free, loan us a car trailer for $20, reduced rate on hire tow vehicle, etc, etc.
Have photo's and vids on you, a plan of what you are going to do and what you expect to achieve, and after events, take in a printed photo and give a bit of an event report.
Smee and I actually have a major sponsor for the SARC - CitySouthside Real Estate - talk to my mate Shaun there and tell him I sent you - he'll look after you and is one of those no BS agents (yes, they do exist).
I actually managed to pry some cold hard cash out of him towards our SARC costs (costs are approx $5k to run for a year without any damage, and we have done quite a bit of damage last year...), in exchange for stickers all over our (or is that his?) car (cheers Stika), along with wearing shirts with his logo on the back at events, adding his name to the flyer for Smees car, and plugging him in posts like this!
Evry bit helps.
