hey as most of you are aware its gone very quiet on the SA supra front. well on the site here anyway. just thought id try and make an attempt. LJZ and i were thinking of trying to make an event soon of a cruise an bbq. just ideas at this point but just thought we should try and get something going because i have been asked by a lot of non sasupra members obviously with supras to get something going and try and bring our love for the cars back together. especially now the weather has become a lot warmer. Any idea's would be great. thinking maybe another run down south or up north. although i am aware a large group of the club and non club people are up north. maybe set something up in advance so people can get off work. seems to be a common issue for a lot of people. Let me know what you think. might be able to get more activity on the site

Cheers for putting up the post mate, I was buggered after work yesterday and didn't even look at the site.
We will get together soon to work out some logistics for the cruise.
Would be great to hear any ideas, suggestions from members

For a cruise, might i suggest going some where that we havent been to before (or for a long while)? Maybe some new roads, some new spots to kick around at etc etc?

love it...lets go north? i want to end up in the barossa or something. or even a scenic way to the tailem bend road house?

If you know non forum based supra enthusiasts then encourage them to come. we have tried this before and it hasnt really worked so may aswell just please those that make the effort on the forum. even the northern based cruises are greeted with mostly southerners... not being negative just talking from experience.

If you go north, you can stop by my place for a cold drink or something. I am just off the Northern expressway at Munno Para West.

Northern expressway is not exactly the greatest cruising road though...

Just what I had in mind, I came the back way home today from modbury through one tree hill and there are some pretty good roads out that way that I wouldn't image that many people from the club have even been on those roads, very windy and they work their way up and down a series of hills. great fun in the supra.
A possible meet point could be out modbury area and wind through to the barossa. Gordo and I are going to work out a route in the next few days and put up a thread.

Sounds good Ben, we could work this into the way home. I had originally thought of having a BBQ in a park or something in gawler but could we do it at your place?
It would only be just up the road from gawler anyways and would be a good finish point for people to make their own ways home.
PM me if your keen on the idea.

Potentially in, haven't been on a cruise for a while and it'd be another good opportunity to test/tweek the suspension setup :)

looks like we are getting a fair bit of interest for this upcoming cruise, both on here and the facebook site. Will have a thread up by the end of the weekend with details

LJZ,

that would really depend on the numbers and the date. I am back at work next week, and have a bunch of stuff to do on the race car. I have plenty of parking space for 8 maybe 10 cars inside the fence, and a decent entertainment area.

Would be hesitant to have my address posted on the net, but we could work something out.

When you have a date we can sort it out. The longer we wait the less likely it will work for me. Kid's sport etc is starting back, and as soon as the race car fires up I will want to hit the track.

im sure we don't need to impose on you like that. we can always find a park or something like that. but if you want us then that's fine as well. but don't feel you have to. on another note i think we will be sorting it out this weekend and figuring out and testing a route. :) we will keep you posted

Well if you are testing a route this weekend, let me know and you can come by and have a look for yourself.

If you need to email me use bensaway@gmail.com - it is the only email I check.

Cheers mate. I just saw that on the top left of the page.

I had to use a 'proper' email address to get a profile on this forum as I couldn't use my actual gmail. It came with our internet contract and I have no idea what it is and don't even know if it is accesible on this computer (different email system again on windows 7)

I sent my phone number to you via email.
