The Go Pro is on charge now. I might drag out the trusty old canon powershot as well for a second angle.

Gordo- I already have a dyno sheet from Morpowa. 237rwkw. I have to go to a wedding in NSW, but if I get back in time I might trailer it down. Up until a month ago I was going to trailer the car to NSW and hit Wakefield park on the way home. The logistics have beaten me, with the kids, the time line and all that.

It is a very race oriented pad that handles up to 850 degrees of punishment and has a higher grip coefficient.

Lets hope if can save you into that notorious turn this time :whistling: haha joking!!
What pads have you been currently running? stock?
I would love to come out to watch Thursday but I have my final tafe test at 1:30 so probably wont be able to make it out there. I look forward to seeing your gopro action though.
Good luck with everything, go show everyone what a toyotas are made of :D

I normally run the Intima SR6300. They are rated from 50 to 700 degrees. These Intima Type D pads are rated from 250 - 850 degrees so they will be rubbish until warmed up. Probably not needed for time attack but should be better suited to a string of 5-6 hard laps.

OK. I went to a test day in March- worst track day ever. Didn't get onto the track until 1130am because they were running 'passenger rides', by then it was 36 degrees. Oil temps hit over 140 deg. Tyres didn't come up to temp and the car was a handful. I got a total of 13 decent laps done, because at 2pm the track was closed for passenger rides again...

I went home in disgust and started cutting the Soarer up with an angle grinder. I now have, umm, very modified front guards, side skirts, and flat undersides.

What I did discover in those 13 laps is that the front diffusers were scraping on the ground. A little annoying, but at least it means that the diffusers are generating enough downforce to 'suck' themselves onto the ground. I spent this weekend repairing the diffuser and fabricating a rear mount for the bar to stop it happening again. It now meets up with an engine undertray. WHat this means is I now have a flat bottom from the splitter to the gear box. It should all should aid aero.

Speaking of aero, a bloke is selling rear wings from his West race car. I am going to have a look next weekend and see if they are suitable for use on the Soarer.

Also looking at buying another shell if I can get one for $200 odd. There are two on gumtree. I am going to make a carbon/glass roof, and replace the rear guards with glass too. I might only save 10-20 kg, but I will have sorted out my bodgy sunroof replacement. Plus, how cool will a carbon fibre roof be...
