My ma70 has a digital dash, and although it looks cool its not exactly practical.

The gauges like to jump around a bit, partially the fuel, Tems and water temp gauge, the others are not too bad.

Most the time they show what i would consider a normal reading however ever now and then it will just not read correct.

The fuel will jump from half a tank to less than a quarter.
The Tems which is actually disconnected at the suspension due to getting normal suspension installed, will jump from soft ( where it sits normally) to full hard.
The temp gauge will go fine for half an hour and then jump up two or three bars ( there 10 bars from Cold to Hot) all off a sudden and then go back down. This does happen most often at the lights though so maybe the residual air heat is affecting this to.

So has anyone had any experiences with this dash, does this sound like an issue with the dash or maybe with the alternator/battery changing voltage or something?

Check earths, they can cause havoc with digi-dashes.

Your TEMS will most likely be working normally. It's set up that it will jump from soft to hard if you take a corner hard. If you are in medium however, it wont go below medium.
Ma61 is on the money too. Check your earths

Doesn't matter if TEMS isn't hooked up at the shock (which he stated and I read...) Unless the TEMS computer has been disconnected or taken out of the car, it will still change the display of the digital dash.

I thought if you had TEMS set to soft it wouldn't go up to the hardest setting as he seems to indicate?

No, its the other way around. What ever setting its on, it wont go below that, but will go above it depending on the inputs from your speedo and steering wheel.

And the fuel level jumping around is an issue with the sender not the dash.

I do have an MA70 digital dash I will be selling at some stage

The other thing to consider with the water temp gauge is that factory gauges have a very braod range that registers as 'normal' (usually the centre of the range) and then they move very rapidly as the temp goes beyond that. It is only when you put proper gauges in your car that you can see what is really going on with the fluids.

Dont forget how old the car is. . . sensors, senders and wiring all fail/breakdown in accuracy over time. Checking earths and cleaning off the dust may help as may replacing the senders/sensors. . .

Yeh spent a while trying to find any issues with it, its really hard to find an issue that happens intermittently.

Eventually i got sick of looking and went and bought an aftermarket gauge and sensor, it was probs for the best, better to have a correct gauge and a gauge that work 90% of the time instead of fixing the original and always wondering if its broken again.

Now i seems to have a slight coolent leak from under thermostat housing, i reckon it might be the little 90 degree turn hose under it, so now i get to go figure out how to pull that out lol
