hey all. i finally got my rims back from the shop last night. while i was changing them over i thought that it would be a smart idea to deglaze my discs and pads. anyway, i got to the left hand front and got my caliper slide bolt out and try lifting the caliper up to slide out and it wouldnt budge. after a bit of a hit and crc i managed to get it to move up and down freely on the top slide but still not completely slide off. after many attempts i decided that cause the pads and dics where fine id put it back together and just keep an eye on it. however, when i tested the brakes they went to shyt and the left hand front is now grabbing. in short my caliper is screwed and i need a new one.

A: does anyone have any A70 calipers they wunna sell or know anyone
and
B: does anyone know somewhere i could try and get some

any help would be great. cheers heaps

i have my set of A80 calipers and stock pads for sale if that's any help. 2 piston fronts, 1 piston rears, standard pads, no rotors.

no idea if these would even fit an A70Supra. just putting the idea out there though.

I have the L & R fronts available, discs, pads and calipers. Still on car so will have to be removed. Have no idea on price tho. Make an offer. Prefer to sell both together.

Dean.

PS If you want a quicker response txt me as I'm not on here often 0433 358 069.

MA and GA brakes are different slightly ain't they? Thats what I thought, but I dunno.

I can get you a set of JZA70 calipers for $100 from interstate if you get desperate and if they fit?

mmm ill let you know. isnt the jza even different again. as far as im aware they are all different but they all have the same hubs and mounting points so with different rotors and pads then its all sweet

JZA70's have slightly bigger rotors and that's about it as far as I know. Take up Harley/Dean's offer. Mine is there just incase you get stuck.

Grease your slide pins!

Try and it get apart and get some caliper grease and grease them up.

Thats why its sticking.

yeh know i do know this ms- MA70 but cheers. what i think happened is that the slide seals got full of water or something along these lines and completely seized together. Seen it a lot on cars at work, but normally rodeo's and colorados. so kinda sucks. plus when i did the pads about 8 months ago i think i used a crap grease. oh well. have to learn some how. lol.

Anyone know if there is much difference between GA and MA brakes cause i always thought the ma was bigger but now im not sure. kinda stuck. im keen on deans but his are GA so unless i know more about sizes i don't know. if they are bigger then i may go with harley but i have managed to get hold of a wreaker that has MA calpiers ready and waiting. so just need to get a better idea on what i should do. just so many choises. :(

i've interchanged my rotors from GA to MA and vice versa so i know that is 100% go.
as far as i know the calipers are also the same, but don't hold me to it as i'm only going by what i've seen, i haven't actually tried it.
but if you want to borrow a set and try it out i'd be happy to lend them to you gordo :)

hhhmmmm. well thankfully harley came to the rescue. though its only raised more questions. :( he assures me that they are of an MA70. i believe him. the only thing is. they are exactly the same as the ones on my GA. this is very confusing. can someone please clear this up. the pads are the same. the discs he supplied are exactly the same size. so yeh. i have the bendix pad sheet. just for a reference to all supra's. it has down an MA70 3.0(import) DB431. then the 85-88 soarer as the same. then a turbo MA71 with DB431S. please can someone help out at all. it has all just made it more confusing. the calipers all have numbers all over them but there all different on ever caliper. even left and right. there is only one number in common. its something like 2323 or something near the bleed nipple. please someone help clear things up

Well if they fit use them then?

There have been a few other people on here that have gone to replace brakes/calipers and have gotten stuck in the same situation as you as to sizing and it came to light that they were attempting to put GA Brakes onto an MA or vice versa.
