"After a hiatus in 2009, the largest car show series in the Southern Hemisphere will make its highly anticipated return to Adelaide on the 7-8th of August.

“Behind the scenes we’ve been working incredibly hard on redeveloping our event format” Status Corporation’s Director Mark Keo stated. “We’ve dedicated the last 12 months to perfecting and enhancing the Auto Salon shows, and we’re confident it will be well worth the wait.”

Auto Salon, Australia’s premiere modified car event, will include a host of new additions to improve the ‘total experience’ of patrons, exhibitors and car competitors. “Our intention is to deliver an event that immerses you into what today’s car tuning culture is all about” Keo continued. “We don’t want Auto Salon to be just ‘a car show’; we want it to be an experience.”

A range of live demonstrations and interactive elements will be sharing the spotlight alongside performances from world famous performing artists and celebrity model appearances. Headlining the Auto Salon 2010 events will be the Australian debut of some of the world’s most recognised and revered modified cars. “We’ve hand-picked a group of overseas hero cars that most have only seen on the covers of magazines. We’re very excited about bringing these cars to our shores so people can see them in the flesh for the first time” stated Status Corporations GM, Simon Kang."

OK guys, The events commitee arelooking forward to this event and hoping to get a variety of cars together. we would like to see 8 to 10 cars being on show from all different makes and styles, mk2, mk3 and mk4 the club has a wide range of cars being nice examples of 100% stock to 500kw dyno demons. we should bring out whatever we can get on board. some emphasis on engine, others stereo, others paint. lets represent this at the show.

a short list of active forum members (jt ur IS would be welcome) we think most wouldnt hesitate to nominate would be:
Reaper, Damo, Ultra Supra, Mercury, Celsius1, Golli, Hardy, Darren, PHANTOM, Yiros, Dragosani, Nos, Sonia-250plus, Chau, Killa, CDUCTV, Stika, ice, jzma70, mark_two, avender, MADCAT, Wookie, Harley
but any mk2's and 3's dont be shy. I'd like to have you there. just dont be judged and represent the club. it may encourage more to join us.

some wont be finished in time. that happens, If your interested please put your hand up. but most may want to get onto sorting there car out for the show. there is still plenty of time. It would be good to get a group together for the show.

I'll be in. Just need to re-spray the frt bar, change the side skirts and re-seal the headlights. Maybe even re-spray the rims too, get them looking new again.

my new bonnet and two tone should be definately done by then and the addition of 2 carbon fibre spoilers. also gonna try get my headlights all modified (line free lenses) in time. might pinch Josies wheels?

Ever since I went to my first Autosalon when I was 14 I knew one day I wanted to be in one. And now ive got my dream car that could be a possibility. However my supra at the moment is in major need of a respray and a few cosmetic repairs.

Either way I'll try to come down after work on one of the nights and say hey and meet you guys. I though the salon went over 4 days? Thurs-Sun?

CDUCTV is correct on the time without the car. send some pics to me of what you think is bad about your car. everyone guages it differently and at the end of the day its a club representation. i have paint and body defects all over my car. You just need to know what your looking for instead of the quick glimpse and thinking thats cool.

as discussed at events meeting, i have setup a thread for members to post there ideas for themes into. this will help so we can be active online about it and then have something to discuss in more detail about when we have a meeting about the show.

when it is closer to the date. Mercury and myself have agreed to try demonstrate from our experiences to those entering what you can do to make your car look nicer for the day. sort of a detailing day. it will be an open discussion for ideas. I would also like to invite Killa to help out with this as his car is always in tip top shiny clean form for shows.

Spoke to Supralvr yesterday, seems happy to attend with his beautiful red mk3 targa top. Just needs to confirm that he'll be around for it as he's going away that month.
