I have booked Mallala out on Tuesday June 22 Monday June 21 for a trackday and need to know if there is enough interest here for another Advanced Driving Trackday course.

It will be the same format as the event i organised last year (August 25) and similar to the FPV Drive Days run by the John Bowe Driving team several times a year. Here is link to last year's thread on SAU for more info: http://www.skylinesa...da-t272759.html

Please reply here or PM me so that I can track the numbers for this event.

This is a great opportunity to learn about car control and driving techniques on a circuit if you haven't been out at Mallala (or on a real racetrack) with your car before. If you want to learn more about being on the track before doing a High Performance Driving Course (the next one will be in November) but don't want to go all out (unrestricted) around Mallala then this is a good course to do first.

I'm sure that Darren, JTmiller, golli, Dark Knight, and 1JZX amongst those that participated last year will recommend this course to everyone here on SA Supra as an essential driving experience.

For those who did do the August trackday last year, then a High Performance Driving Course like the ones i ran last November and last month (photos here) would be the next recommended step.

Thanks for your interest.

Update - here is the official enrolment form:
Attached File  Car Club_Intro Performance course_Info and Questions-2010.pdf (138.07K)
Number of downloads: 56

Full payment to John Bowe Driving is due by May 31st for the trackday three weeks later (June 21).

im in, if i get my car track ready in time, just need some strut brace, whiteline swaybar, replace all the bushing, some new tyre and maybe some brake upgrade^^.
you know how much would it cost?

you don't have to get your car fully track ready as it's not a full on trackday (that's what the High Performance Drive Day is for).

we had people out there in relatively stock cars - the benefit is in learning the driving skills.

cost will be $385-$425 (i do need to confirm this) for the day which includes drinks and a catered lunch.

I highly recommend this course to everyone as its lots of fun and you certainly learn about better car control. Im almost tempted to do it again as my brake control certainly needs improving as Im not agressive enough. :whistling:

Seriously people its a blast and money well spent,

I am very interested in doing this. especially since its the only way i would feel confident in participating in the other track days you have organised kim. been talking to luke with the R34 4 door who has been on a few days and i would love to get out there. the next major thing i plan on doing is some massive brakes after some relatively cheap cosmetics.

this is still an EOI but i hope to have enough numbers by Anzac Day to make it an official event. to make it fly, we'll have to get full payment up front (paid to John Bowe Driving Institute) to secure participants.

once i have enough interest to make the event viable, i will make it an official event (hopefully around Anzac Day weekend). the John Bowe guys will then publish an enrolment form for people to fill out. full payment is required at that point (around mid May). i am trying to keep our cost down at the 2009 rate ($385) instead of the 2010 course fee ($425).

good news - i have enough interest to run the Advanced Driving course up at Mallala in June. i will also be able to retain last year's $385 pricing for this year :)

however, the only change is that i have to shift the date from Tuesday June 22 to Monday June 21... this may not be a bad thing as i reckon people can make a long weekend of it.

so please confirm or register your interest from here on:

I'm still interested, i'll confirm either tomorrow night or Monday night.

The date on the home page still reads 22nd by the way, just a heads up.

P.S. - Just to stop digging up an old thread, did you ever find those forms to fill out to become a financial member? As I wont be able to attend the AGM due to work. Thanks :)

I just realised that june 21st is the first day of exams at flinders.
I doubt that Caroline or I will have an exam that day, but until a draft of the exams is sent out, I'll hold off on paying, just in case.
