Depends on mods, power goals (top end/low/mid) etc etc. Unfortunately I have no clue on 2jz cams, if you had a 1jz now then I could offer advice. But Im sure someone here will help you.

280.... That's BIG!

If you want are wanting acceleration, why not stick to stock or 264s?

In most situation, bigger the degree, drop in low end, more mid to top end.

dont touch them. there is no need to swap them with your power goals. stock cams have the torque in a nice place. and you wont run out of puff up top.

mitch, make your own account! rumor has it there was an incident with your car recently at a round a bout?

It definitely depends on what power you are aiming for and how much money you want to spend. Correct me if I'm wrong... Increasing your duration will increase the amount of air/fuel mixture into the combustion chamber at different times because it opens the valve up for a longer period and also earlier or later. Increasing the duration will dump a lot of fuel in at idle causing it to run rich which means there's too much fuel to create the perfect burn, too little and you will have detonation (bad). High powered cars need more fuel at top end therefore a larger duration cam is needed to allow more mixture in and exhaust out so there is enough fuel to burn without detonating. I guess that's the reason behind introducing VVT-i to the 2jz because it's best of both worlds in Toyota's most famous sports car. It retards the timing of the valves for idle while allowing it to advance at higher rev's If you're not looking for stupid amounts of power the standard cams will be enough. I have heard the best compromise for a 2jz is 272. Once you go to 280 you should think about replacing valve springs.

For a Daily driver a 272 Cam will be a bit of a pig and the novelty of that big a cam will soon wear off. I went 264 Int and Ex which killed the bottom end a little but nice and fat through mid range and top end. I presume you are a manual and not an auto. 280 cams are reserved for full on track cars or Dyno Queens
