Sup guys

I havn't been on for a while as i lost my license and gave up on my cars =[...

The other day me and Dad went out and fixed the celica! Turns out the thermostat wasn't working... We arn't sure if the head gasket is cracked, but we put some Chem Weld i think it was and no bubbles in the radiator and no smoke. So i'm pretty happy, just got to sell it now.

And i finally got motivated to do the Supra, so Dad and i have been out there all day... We got a near new dash installed, looks sweet! We are now trying to get the engine running.. I'll take some pics when we go back out =] By the way, does anyone know where the fuel pump is in a MA61? And it's electrical yeh?

I get my P's back in 3 months... Does anyone know if i have to go back on my L's or anything? Any information would be nice as i know nothing lol...........

Thanks ^___^

Fuel pump is in tank normally, pull out all the shit in the boot and you should see a panel where you can get to it. I think... ;)

The fuel pump is fine, thanks for the reply though =] Some one pulled all the vacuum hoses and shit off, so we're trying round up the hoses we need and find a picture of another 5M-E to see where the hoses go... It also runs a bit rich, we don't know why?

=]

Put all the vac lines back on.
See how rich it runs then.

We got that picture, but it's the twin cam engine, our system has a additional 3 vacuum lines going to the air pump situated next to the power steering pump. We're not sure what the air pump does yet, or how to check it, but there seems to be no flow either in or out of the pump with the engine running. We think we have vacuum and or intake air issues causing the motor to idle @ 1300 revs...

Apart from that, the motor is running good. It was missing and ran fairly hot, so we removed the thermostat, played with the vacuum lines and the timing. Now she just idles to high, any ideas?

Thanks

Michael

If you’re not running a thermostat the motor might not be getting hot enough to get out of cold start mode. Never run an engine without a thermostat as your engine is designed to run in a certain temperature range to prevent wear and for improved fuel efficiency and power.
