sorry for large images, imageshack got gay...

Got this car for nice price with 3 months rego and a blown trans.
Towed it to my mates workshop and I swapped that over for another one a couple weeks later. Then I decided to freshen things up a little. Removed the grill masked up all the chrome and painted the grey plastic to be black. Also modernised the headlights and fitted some fender mirrors.

Then I was looking at spoilers. Couldn’t find the one I really wanted (same as on charwie’s celica) but for $15 a mate was selling his s13 silvia wing so I thought stuff it why not. From AJPS I also got a ke70 madhouse lip/chin spoiler that I had to slice the ends off and cut a wedge out of the middle so I could make the mounting face run flush with the front panel. I think they suit well and gives it a nice look.

When buying the car I thought since the seat covers looked quite old that the seats themselves were in quite good shape, I was wrong. The drivers seat had a broken spring and the fabric at the top was torn. The passenger side was torn in a similar place. So I decided to mount my old fabric JZA80 seats to the front. Made up my own rails and they seam to work pretty well. I will get the rear seat retrimmed soon when cash flow is a little better.

I had also wanted to fix the deteriorating dash that was severly cracked up. So removed all the vinyl/plastic material and recoated in fibreglass. Then painted matte black. Cheaper than rebuilding the crash pad and to me looks fine. I essentially removed the whole dash to get it out and while at it fix up some rust behind the dash too.

Also fitted a cd player and some 6x9’s that I got for $200 brand new. Just so I wasn’t confined to the radio.
Then a couple days into the new year my kp61 fender flares rocked up…although I have 2 front left flares. But ohwell, I will belend it out or something. With these mounted to the car I really needed some wheels. And looking to the “shakotan zombie” toji’s car for pointers. There was no way I could get some wheels of that crazy an offset for cheap. But I did decide on some 15x10’s for the rear. Performance make a 10” wide rim with -12 and -26 offsets. From ae86dc and hardtuned I found a guy in Adelaide selling a set of 15x10-12 and 15x8-4 with tyres so I have put a deposit down. Sometime in the future I may end up getting 15x10-26 for the rear and putting the -12’s up front? To better fill the flares. At the moment I will need spacers to make it look ok. Everyone saying that having 10” wide front wheels will make steering a tad on the heavy side.

Once the flares and wheels all sorted I will lower it to sit right. Looks like 4 inches? So will need a panhard road and some industrial springs I am guessing at this point? After that…just drive it to and from work as it is intended to be a daily.

did some quick research and messaged brenton from fours n more.
currently have a 4m engine. 5m is similar. and 5m came out in Ma61. there are mounts available to go from 5m to 1jz/2jz...

so looks like that simple-ish engine conversions would be 7m, 1jz, 2jz.

everyone i talked to at all japan day was saying to keep it and finish it off properly. thing is i wanna finish the supra "properly" but also love the cressida too lol

What is it with you guys and stretched rubber

Other than its asking for a defect your just setting yourself up to pop a bead if cornering hard. You need to match the rubber to the rims so at least the walls are near vertical not leaning in at 45deg.

darren darren darren...let me educate you on the ways of a japanese bosozoku motorcycle gang member...

Its just plain COOL for massive stretch and to reduce the ground clearance to Nill. I know its not practical. but its actually the only way i can run a 10" wide rim on the front. vertical tyres will scrub the inner guard.

tempted to lower it but if i end up selling its possibly a bad thing to do...
