well those that have heard it seem to like it. but saturday morning will be the first time through the tunnels. should be fun for about 10 seconds lol.
recently purchased a full set of chrome dash rings off ebay from a UK store called tuning shop. they really make the difference to the dash. so much brighter, i also removed the rubbery texture from all panels and painted them satin black. looks the same but without the textured rubbery crap

well it finally happened. i ordered the last of the chrome rings from MVP and a carbon roof spoiler. will get the boot lip spoiler at a later date.
also decided i am only going to vinyl wrap the bonnet and not bother with doing the roof line.

Nice work. The dash looks awesome. Big improvement. That vinyl wrapping is tight. For two pieces it doesn't appear to have a visible seam? How long is it likely to last?

well it didnt last very long...
as most know after autosalon i had an accident on the road. now i have am Abflug bonnet painted purple. similar vent design in the centre with one forward facing vent over the intake area.
the only thing remaining to be fixed still is the chroming of the front left wheel. should have that back in a few days.
As photos from the last cruise show i have also fitted a Ridox roof spoiler and S1 clear indicator lenses have been fitted.
For future work:
got to save for the matching ridox boot spoiler. The modified headlights are still sitting there waiting to be put back together and on the car. got to redo the LED climate control panel. maybe update the head unit.

but that leaves me at a massive cross roads with what to do with the car. kinda want jap rims...JJ's old ones would have been perfect. i dont feel the need to change to big brakes.

Then comes performance options:
1) leave it be
2) NA work, Cams, independant throttle bodies (can get around 250kw, snappy response and revvy)
3) big single turbo making around 300kw (original plan, probably be like an XR6 turbo)
4) twin turbo with ct26's or something
5) supercharge it with a vortech like supercharger. (can get around 300kw looks like front of turbo)

either way i think i will have to have a wad of cash and sit down with someone to discuss what the outcomes and overall cost will be. Cost is probably the biggest driving factor. options 2-5 all require an aftermarket ECU and uprated fuel systems. superchargers can cost about the same as a turbo plus manifold.

at moment option 1 is the most sensible thing to do :P

Personally I would

1. Get a set of extractors.

Just remember they do make car louder inside as well as outside and usually sound a little tinny. After my twin plate clutch everything sounds awesome  If you go the Supercharged route these are not wasted expense.

2. Supercharge the sucka

Wont suffer from turbo lag and even though wont make as much as turbs will certainly be capable of 300rwkw without to many dramas. If running low boost you wont even need to crack the engine to decompress it.

yeah the tinny sounds i am not a fan of. and my exhasut is already free flowing enough. but then there is the debate of 4 to 1's or 4-2-1's. can get both and the 4-1's will bolt in position of the factory header. no other work required. so thats kind of a winner there.

think its just going to be a drip fed type process to get there. im in no rush anyway

As we all know the standard plastic lense headlights all turn foggy or yellow over time. the worst of my two looked like the pic below.
http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/8725/p1060565small.jpg

I have always liked the headlights of my dads 300ZX. very dark with minimal chrome. simplistic and effective. (bad photo)
http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/4632/p1060566small.jpg

Ok so the first step was to dismantle the headlights. I rercuited the services of http://www.gtglass.com.au/ for that job.
Then i took to the plastic lenses with a dremel (small grinder) and cut the face of the lense away from the outer frame of the lense.
http://img534.imageshack.us/img534/1160/p1060564small.jpg

the chomre bezel pieces I also had the chrome removed by A-class metal finishers in lonsdale http://www.aclassmetal.com.au/
then painted them satin black. which gives it a slightly more modern look and similar to series 2 headlights.

once i had glued the new lenses onto the frames i called the guy from GT glass back and he fitted them all together. for those knowing about these lenses from the group buy years ago. I made a jig up to position everything...pretty tricky. lucky dad was a pattern maker by trade :) (also helped with the boot install redo)
then end result looking like the pics below. i painted a satin black border on the outside. and there are a few minor areas im not happy with but it will do.

i think the front end looks a lot more aggressive now. and the new lenses without lines are like mirrors. next step get HID's :)

Looks mint in the photos, always wanted to paint mine like that,

You going to tackle the rear lights and paint them the same colour?

thanks darren. its one of them finer details that people who have looked at supras for long periods of time notice. not something that everyone is going to pick out straight away
