Yeah it's a B&M, the fittings all up cost more than the damn 'cooler!
And I found the right spot....after about a week of changing mounting brackets, moving overflow bottles etc.
For now I'm keeping the stock fuel set up as it won't be running more than stock boost until it's worn in, then I'll be upping to a bosch 044 along with the supporting upgrades ;)
And Kwan:
My dad and I have taking out this engine down to a day's work, this is the fifth time we've had to take it out of one car or another :) ha!

FINALLY got it running, Dad took it out for one drive before I came home from uni,
I took it out, got to the top of my hill (about 100 metres away) and it died.
Won't start or even crank, Dad says I've split the crank or at least cracked it.
So now I'm onto engine number four, just have to find one now.
Probably going to go for a 1J since 7M's have given me so much grief, but we'll see what my pocket can afford.
So that's the end of this build thread for now!

followed by some bad news.
Good news first is that the engine is now in an running!
took it for a drive today and it's running b-e-a-utifully.
But now the bad news.
The "new" 57 trim ct-26 i ordered from driftmotion is sitting on the floor in the shed already, the first time we took it for a drive there was a strage grinding-sort of noise (why dad thought i'd done something to the crank) and something inside the turbo has come loose causing shaftplay like i've never seen before, which causes the compresser wheel to scrape on the housing. The impeller wheel isn't so bad, but still horrible.
NOT A PRETTY SOUND OR SIGHT.
So i'm taking that into ATS this week to see if it's fixable/worth fixing. The next bit of bad news is that the engine rattles.
It sounds like somethings hitting against the wall in the block between 2000-3000 rpms. As soon as the turbo spools up or the revs are under 2000 it goes away. It's not rodknock because i've done the injector trick that IJ (i think?) off supra mania recommends. Boost doesn't drop out, blows no smoke, revs fine up to about 5000 (haven't gone any higher yet), dad plus the mechanic i got to come look at it say it's not fatal to the engine, but it won't last very long (they said anywhere from a month to a year, hard to tell at the moment)
Which leads me to more good news, despite putting so much effort into this engine (originally buying it and just thinking the cams had come loose/blown turbo, ha!) i will be going 1J at the end of the year money and time permitting.
But for now it runs, i just have to sort out a few leaking vacuum hoses and i can finally drive my baby again!
Here's a few photos of it coming out of the shed and seeing daylight plus a shot of the engine.

Just ignore the mis-match rim, the other front tyre has a puncture -.- more money for me to spend.

Got the car passed through regency probably about 6-7 months ago as the other engine died and i ended up getting a completely new one.
New engine was built by City Dismantlers at Gepps Cross, brand new everything internally with a MHG (unsure of the brand as I didn't build it myself :(), head studs torqued to 72 ft. lbs. new valves, springs etc. etc. you guys know the deal.
I've had really good experiences with them and the team that built it do a lot of drag cars, so I'm hoping they'll keep their good reputation ;)
Got my new turbo on, as well as a new Turbosmart stealth plumback BOV which looks very schmick.
Also got a bunch of steel intake pipes etc. with a new air filter and all the usual bits and pieces.
cleaned up everything a bit more with the new engine, got the injectors re-built and flowtested as well as buying a walbro 255 fuel pump for when I finally get around to installing a set of 550cc injectors :)
Coilovers should hopefully be here and in before the cruise next weekend (xmas cruise) as well as some new subframe bushings and little bits.
I've also stripped out the boot (the plastic was rattly, cracked and just plain ugly) as well as finally installing a boost controller and running 12lbs of boost now :)
Seems to grab a bit more than it used to ;)
Also got some new wheels for it measuring 17X9 +45 up front with 235/45/17's and 17X10 +45 up rear with 255/45/17's, which sit very nicely
My radiator also packed up, so I've got a PWR one on the way, hopefully be all better soon too :)
Here's a few photo's for now and I'll get some engine bay shots up/better photos of everything up tomorrow/in the near future :)
New wheels (sorry for the shoddy photos, was only a test fit)

yeah I know, it needs to be lowered ha!

I think 10 inches will be wide enough :whistling:
New intercooler which is still waiting fitment. Measures 300X560X3 (I think, I know it's a fair bit small than a "standard" size, so I can make the most of the small mouth on the A70 bumper)
And no, I didn't get the tanks on the wrong side, and no I won't be having 214901 metres of intercooler piping to plumb it in.
Got a nice surprise I'm going to be keeping on the down low for now being made as we speak, which should be here by the end of the month ;)

yeah, i thought it would be way to wide, but turns out it fits nicely :)

widebody is a good bonus for what i want to do with it haha.
I'm looking at some BC coilovers from justjap, still deciding between the RS and the VS. most likely go with the rs over here as they provide a slightly more racey feel to them haha :) compared to the VS over here
i was going to get some tein's from the states/imported locally but it's not really in my budget and these will do everything i need them too i.e height and damper adjustment as well as provide a much stiffer ride, so s'all good :D

New air filter, BOV, intake pipe etc. etc.
http://i787.photobucket.com/albums/yy160/immy_2010/06122010053.jpg
New radiator in! with custom mounts and shroud (aka hack job of old one)
Custom PWR job, 4.2cm thick, triple core ;)

How engine currently sits. Needs a GOOD clean and tidy up. Once the FFIM gets here things will be alot easier for me haha.
http://i787.photobucket.com/albums/yy160/immy_2010/06122010057.jpg
Rough interior shot of custom gauge and boost controller setup. Need to get a cleaner job, probably get some carbon fibre molds made up when I can afford it, just testing out fitment at the moment :)
So FINALLY it's back on the road (good ol' 7M's) and will see the cruise this weekend!! :aggressive: :aggressive:

Got the rear end sorted out so it's straight enough to drive up and down the driveway (after the crash for those of you who don't know).
Got the following goodies delivered the other day, can't wait to get them in!
Gotta clear a spot in the shed for it to go in, but it's all going nicely.
Managed to hit out most of the panels well enough so it's a bit cheaper when it gets the crashies (which they said it was unfixable. Obviously never met a supra owner before aka stubborn).
So here's a bit of a parts show off for you and that's it 'till i got some photos of my progress of late :)

Manifold needs a bit more of a polish and the TB needs a good degrease, can't wait till this is on!

My poor caster rod :( the toe rod was the same too....fortunately i think the coilovers survived, but most of the suspension on the driver's side looked like this ahha

What FFIM is that? Looks the goods!
Fit it so I can see what it looks like!
Your doing your build so much faster then what I am, Abiet I'm spending money on my bikes ATM rather then cars, and I still have to get my daily running before I put the Supra in for some real work!
It's looking schmick! Keep it up!

save having to blend it in etc. then get it all done again ahahha
and Golli, it's a Ron R manifold, if you use supramania/international supra forums you'll probably be familiar with his work, he has an 800 odd hp mkIII with a 2j ;)
can't say in words the quality of his work for the price haha.
still looking forward to get out on a cruise with you to compare some notes ahhaha
