October last year...

Things take a bit longer when you do things yourself, but at the end of the day you get more of an appreciation rather than slugging it off to someone else to do the dirty work, and know exactly what has and hasn't been done.

Interior goes to the trimmers next month, paint gets done when the body kit turns up, and will be back on the road around August. Definately by November at the latest for a chick I knows graduation car.

Removed the auto shifter / handbrake and getting a custom boot made up to go over the selector area. Once the dash is painted the part with PRND2L would look stupid, so I figured with that custom made to cover it up and tie in with the rest of the interior it should look pretty nice.

Interior goes up Saturday morning to get trimmed and should be finished in 3-4 weeks. STILL waiting on the body kit :( Im going to start putting SOME of the interior pieces back in the car before paint is done (probably just drivers seat and steering wheel for obvious reasons, and maybe some of the rear plastics.

Slowly getting there, can't wait to drive it again :D

Oh nothing could be so true!!

Mine was due to be finished in december, what turned out to be a head recondition became a full fleaged rebuild. 6 months later, the motor and engine bay are getting close to becoming one again.

the satisfaction of doing it all yourself is awesome.

Cant wait to see the beast on the road again, especially after we cut up the front bar last march!

Yeah its an Auto, BUT don't let that fool you. I've driven both auto and manual and to be completely honest I wasn't convinced to want to change it. The 6SP seemed very sluggish and heavy. While it might be nicer to belt through gears around a track in a manual, the Auto for cruising and the occasional track or strip work is more than capable of taking a beating.

And Dale... dude it's so hard not to spend money right now. I've got it sitting there waiting for the Interior / Paint, but at the same time I've considered buying a new bike and getting the stereo gear sooner. Decided that the first thing I'm gonna do is buy a new daily instead of the new bike. Can't wait to get back on one though, should see the new BMX track in the mount... bones will be (re)broken BMX Track

Haha, you don't realise how funny that is. . . I am the biggest advocate for auto's. . . I drive a manual daily but the supra is an auto. . . I've had both auto and manual performance cars. . . Nothing beats a fully built and manualised auto. . . I had 12k invested in my commonwhore auto box. . .I plan on building the supra box up and manualising it/swapping it to a race auto box. . .not sure yet. . . To do the 6speed swap would be money better spent elsewhere IMO. . . Nothing like driving and eating ;)

To all the manual drivers. . . This is his build thread, bash me about auto's somewhere else (oh and go :sex: yourselves. . .) lol

Agree 100%. looking at at least $6000? to do a 6SP conversion on the cheap. with an addition 4k or so? for a quality diff / clutch set up. That's money that I'd rather spend on the motor AND auto box and get better results from it if and when I eventually get there.

I'm usually against autos with most cars, but this is in a completely different category haha, a lot of my mates like to think that manuals are the only way to go, always tell them if they get a chance to compare an auto and manual TT supra to let me know haha; no way in hell they'll be test driving mine LOL.

Sequential / Paddle shift is the way things seem to be heading.

On another note; off to adelaide in approximately... 7 hours? To drop off my interior. Will be back up for another day trip in 3-4 weeks to collect it again. By then the new kit should hopefully be here. Was informed 2.5weeks ago that theyd finished laying the fibreglass and it was awaiting a container to be filled before it lands in melbourne. So fingers crossed its only about a month away. Then I can start coming up a bit more once its all **finished**

All finally starting to get done properly after all the stuff arounds with previous places.

Another quick / useless update, most of my interior is finished, will be hopefully heading up Saturday to collect it, if not then definitely next weekend.

Have been informed the boat is somewhere in the middle of the ocean with my bodykit pieces and that they will land in Melbourne in the first week of July.

Car is being prepped for paint and will be sodablasted and begin being painted next month also :D

No new toys to show off for it yet :( damn waiting sucks.

Looks like some good work. I know how you feel by doing it yourself. I'm finding alot of headaches with what I'm doing with my car but once you over come them it makes you appreciate the car more because you know everything about the car.

Whoop, new boost gauge turned up after much sourcing to track one down, wiring and bolting it all in on Saturday when I get my interior back to make sure it all sits nicely :D

Possibility of the kit being here by the end of next week also, then gotta raise it up for paint and get the guards rolled and off she goes :D

Interior wasn't ready, so I used the fuel money to get drunk instead.

Also bribed the missus to help wire / plumb in the boost gauge on the weekend. Here's a video of it working, the movement is very smooth for what people may call a 'cheap' gauge.

All the wiring for the gauges / sensors are poked through the wiring loom spot in the door too, then hidden away behind the front guard and run that way, same as with the stereo wiring, so theres no gay looking wires poked everywhere through the firewall, quite tidy even if I do say to myself :D

Howdy howdy all!

Finally back on here and a fair bits changed. Finally back in to my house (some of you know the headaches that were going on there, but still awaiting a fair stack of money from the real estate agent - dodgey b@s7@rds!)

The car's at a stage where I can be reasonably happy with it, it goes in this week to get new OEM window molds for the front and rear windscreens (panel beater did a feral job and sikaflexed in a generic seal... wasn't fun trying to remove it so I bit the bullet and getting the pro's to do their thing!), and still chasing down a set of washer jets that will sit in without needing to be ground down too much.

Then spraying the engine bay satin black over the coming week also and it'll be ready to roll. Have a photoshoot for 'Hot4s and Performance Imports' coming up on the 22nd of April, and hopefully they do a decent write up, not the usual sketchy ones.

Heres a few pics of the build from where it left off:

As Mikey has already put up pics of the finished trim, I'm sure you can see for yourself the quality of the stitch-work done by Darren from Signature Vehicle Interiors - Shameless facebook plug - "SVI on Facebook"

Was hoping to come up for ToyoShow but with work and having to get the new seals put in It wouldn't be possible. So hopefully there's a carshow later in the year I can pop up for and catch up with you guys. I think Autosalon's now extinct?
