however, you are right, it's almost a Supra. and as i understand things, yours is a Celica, not a Celica-Supra / Celica XX. so perhaps your thread would be better served on the CCCSA site? (i presume that you've already put it on their forum)
my knowledge of the earlier Supras isn't very good, but i understand that the 'MkI' (JDM Celica XX MA45 MA46) and 'MkII' Supras (JDM Celica XX GA61 2000 G/S/L and MA61 2800 GT) were exported as the Celica-Supra and form the historical basis of the separate-from-Celica A70 and A80 lines. thus your thread about your Celica, while interesting, may be better appreciated in the context of its peers on the CCCSA site. no offence intended.
moderators/Admin: i may be confused about the Celica Supra thing, but feel free to unapprove my post if i am mistaken here and educate me. ma61turbo would be able to shed some light here too.

a supra. its only classed as a supra because they put that name on there
following the Celica name, its only a 6cyl celica with longer nose.
the section doesn't say "supras only" so i figured i would post it up
and i dont post on CCCSA because a few years ago i coped shit about having
the type of celica that i do.

Anything that is called a Supra, whether it is a Celica Supra or just plain Supra is, well, a Supra. The Celicas all used to be "A" model codes, until Toyota went to a different frame for the Celica and went FWD. Seeing as the A80 is still an "A" model, does that make it a Celica too? Not really.
If it is called a Supra, then it is a Supra. Regardless of whether is shares a frame with a Celica or not. The Supra line did NOT start with the A70(however much some people want to think so). Without the success of the ma61(the ma47 was a bit mediocre) the A70 wouldn't have been born. FWIW second-hand ma61's were selling for MORE than brand new ma70s in 86 when the a70 was released here.

Glad I didn't put my car up even though I suggested this section :P think I'll wait till I get the supra BBK upgrade then it'll be close enough!
Looking good hybrid, is it going to be able to keep up on the next cruise? :P

Exactly, member's rides is like shannons of insurance..
It's about the passion, not the type of car :)
Hell, I could have a Supra and a Falcodore... and be passionate about both :)

your not telling me anything i already didnt know, i know a celica supra
is a supra. all i meant by that is that all it really is is a longer celica
with a 6cyl engine. celica *A6* and supra arent that much different
except length and engine (other than small things like interior differences)

yep thats what i thought too but guess not, hell i got less when i
posted this on a honda site a while ago.
maybe, should be a hell of a lot better, last cruise i was keeping up
with merc and (forget there names) silver supra through corners but every
little tiny straight would absolutely kill me. the MK2's and who ever
else was behind me were long gone.
this was before the engine/drivetrain and new suspension so it should
be better i hope lol :P

Trust me, if I really gave it some you wouldn't keep up with me through the corners or the straight's  Can't go to hard on the cruises because the hole idea of a cruise is to stay together. :)
Nice work on the car mate and some smart upgrades going on. Keep up the good work.
