How do people do it? And don't tell me that you pay someone to do it ;)

Want to swap to Royal Purple fluid prior to the track day next month, but looking at the filler plug there appears to be SFA room to get anything up there to fill it up. Normally I'd pull the shifter out and fill from the top(did this with the ma61) but the V160/161 on the A80 has a remote shifter so that's a no-go.

I can't recall ever seeing anything at Repco and the like that could help, so what do people use?

have just had the gearbox fluid redone. fill from the left hand side plug a few inches up from the bottom plug. i should have taken a photo of it when looking at this for you as it was up on the hoist today (doh) but i was in a rush, sorry.

Yeah, I can see where the plug is, but it looks like there is not enough room to get anything up there to fill it. I guess I'll have to test it out before I drain the existing fluid.

How much did the Royal Purple set you back? Did you buy it locally?

Need to do mine too. Never got around to it after that GB fell through.

Haven't got it yet, can get it off eBay from an Australian seller for $25/quart(946ml).

one way to change the gearbox oil without a hand pump is to take out the fill plug then remove the gear shifter and pour through the gearshifter hole until oil comes out the fill hole, road test then check level on a flat surface make sure the oil is hot when checking

Yeah, as I mentioned in my original post that is the way I used to do it. The Getrag has a remote shifter mechanism which means this can't be done.
