RE050/A's are a good tire from what a few of my friends have been saying. the new RE001 Adrenalins are quite good too from the one report i've had from a mate who's running them. however, we still haven't worked out if the locally made tire (Elizabeth) is as good as the JDM produced one.
but all of this is no use for you since you can't get them in 19"
the other thing you want to consider is the actual width of your rim (8.5" 9" or 9.5"?). if you're running 245's now, can you fit a 275 wide tire? they may not fit well on a 9" wide rear...

a 255/40R17 will fit anything from 8½~10" width rim, but Bridgestone recommend a 9" wide rim (i run a 9.5" rear which makes them look nicely stretched). the overall diameter of the tire is 636mm which is what Supras generally run on.
the 275/30R19 fits 9~10" with 9½" optimal width. the OD is 648mm.
the 265/30R19 fits 9~10" with 9½" optimal width. OD is 644
as you can see, Supras with 19" tires sit a little taller than 17"s due to the increase in overall diameter (OD)

Hope this can be of some use to someone.

Another thing to point out is that they won the Wheels Tyre competition recently (late last year or early this year can't quite remember) and beat Bridgestone Potenza's to the title.
I think they are cheaper than Potenza's too.

The Potenza RE-01R might be a go-er, pending price and availability. They only come in 275/30 and 245/35 in 19's though. Might end up staying with 245 wide tyres after all, but at least these buggers will be sticky.
The Marangoni Mythos sound good also, but they seem to be more of a winter tyre.

275's might buldge a bit with 9" rims. depends on actual width and side wall profile as well. also note that not all 275 tires are 275mm wide - different manufacturers have different width 275's and side aspects. Bridgestones sit nice & square and are pretty accurate with real world sizing.
the Potenza RE-01R's are a fantastic tire. they've just been replaced with the RE-11 in Japan. if you can get them - get em now. i'll probably go with these for my next street tire.

Ended up going with 265/30R19 Marangoni Mythos' in the end. $320ea fitted at Wheelworx. Wheelworx were fantastic to deal with and I'll be going there again in the future.

Maybe you mean 305 or 315? Not recommended as the tyre is too wide for the rim and handling would be terrible.

, and had no listing in their system. They mentioned the RE-001 Adrenalins and said they'd be coming in 19" at some stage but couldn't tell me when. Then they tried to push a sale of 265/30R19 Yokohama's for $585ea, which was when I left.

By the sounds of it, when your new tyres need replacing, the RE001 will be available in 19s.
Interesting how you find your new tyres. I worked at a Tyre store during my studies and I found that the cheaper tyres performed well when new but rapidly degraded with road noise increasing and the grip levels decreasing with tyre wear.
I have seen so many brands come into the market and claim to be better then the top brands but not perform as well through out the life of the tyre.

oops... i forgot to mention that the RE-01 and RE-01R was never available to Australia. and of course, the RE-11 will just be JDM only.
same goes for Yokohama - most of their nice stuff isn't available here. AD07 is fantastic but was only delivered in limited batches (for Lotus Cup, etc)

You're pretty much spot on. The Marangoni Mythos were great when new, but now that the tread has worn down a little the grip levels have dropped dramatically. In the dry I can wind it on in first then a quick shift to second will see the car fishtail all the way into third gear (I'm only running stock boost btw). In the wet they're a death trap, with wheel spin from low throttle in 1st, 2nd and 3rd when the FIRST turbo spools. I have also gone sideways a few times at over 100km while travelling in a straight line in the wet (fscken scary!!).
They're wearing down very quickly now. That's to be expected with all the wheel spin, but I think they're wearing out even quicker than just from that.
Tire noise is great with them though - they're very quiet.
My overall thoughts are people should avoid them for use with TTs. I definitely won't be getting another set. Basically when they get down to a bit over 50% tread all traction goes out the window.
By the time they wear out it'll be bang on 6 months since I purchased them. That's probably about 8,000kms travelled. Most of it daily driving with only a couple of hill runs. No burn-outs or really silly stuff, although I'm being a bit silly with them now just because it's fun.
There are ads on the radio from a major tyre center selling the "Italian made Marangoni Mythos for performance and sports cars". Maybe by performance and sports cars they mean commodores? Because they're definitely not good enough for a true sports car like a TT Supra.

In the wet they are absolutely ridiculously terrible, no traction at all, spins if you floor it at 120km/hr. In the dry they aren't too bad, still kicks out sideways and leaves smoke from 1st-2nd gear change.
My next tyre setup will be Mickey Thompson ET streets for the rear in 265/40/R18, $370 each, and Kuhmo V70 on the front in 235/40/R18 $320 each.
The car wont be driveable in the wet, but I doubt I will drive it in the wet anyway, this setup will hook up like crazy on the street I think.
