I don't really have any skills, but I work for somewhere that makes industrial insulation. Not pink batts or any rubbish like that, but the kind used in foundries -- it has twice the melting point of aluminium and virtually no heat goes through it. If anyone wants some for home projects, drop me a PM. Great for everything from general heat proofing to fire protection.

Is it usable/suitable for ceiling insulation?

It's not recommended for that. It absorbs about 20x it's weight in water, so if you had a roof leak you probably won't notice until the ceiling came crashing down. It's quite heavy too, weighing in at about 130KG per cubic metre. Great for use in walls or as sound proofing though.
