hey boys and girls,

i am sick and tired of having my car look clean for only 2 days at best! damn black beauty!

anyways, i was thinking of getting a car cover for it at night to prevent dust settling and sticking to the waxed paint. unfortunetly, wax acts like a magnet for dust!

where can i get one of these from and how much do they go for?

do they scratch the paint or do they have a special layer underneath for protection? now with the damn water restrictions as well, im scared to wash my car in case i get caught!

anyone used one before, let me know of anything that i will have to undergo etc

cheers

Just from experience,

if you go a too thin car cover its sticks to your car when it rains..........

or some of em that thin let the water through....

Need a nice thick one, thats water proof, and has a soft layer inside,

also easyier to have two ties at each end that clip together under the car than

just a scrunchie ending, that will blow off in wind.....

I bought one for a VN so i'd say it's about the same size as a supra for at about $100 at super cheap auto. it's a kenco so it's wasn't cheap. It's made out of Tyvek if that means anything to anyone but it's thick and does a good job. It has an elastic end to it so it's just wraps around the car. I need to get one for after i get a re-spray, i'm going to be so paranoid.

I bought a Car cover for about $270 000 keeps the car nice and clean and not bad to sleep under as well

Only problem with car covers is you have to keep the car spotless and also make sure you dont get any crap inside the cover as it makes a great sanding pad when it gets a bit windy. One trick I know of is to get some soft terry-towling sheets sown together and you put them on car first then the car cover. This way you can wash it every now and then to remove any dirt or dust. Buy the best quality cover you can afford if this is for long term outdoor use. I know a guy who had one custom made by a crowd who make caravan annexes. This is the guy who puts the sheet on first. Heavy canvas doesnt blow around in the wind as much. He had it made long with some eyelets and fixes it with Octupus straps.

Cheers
Darren
