If the 6 speed goes for around $2k I will place a bid. Any higher than I will just wait.
Don't send this around as you will push the price up

Oh well, horses for courses - the ol' auto v. manny debate eh Chief?
Either way has it's moments - depends on the main driving style needed.
Have I mentioned this before - I saw an ad for the new 5 series Beemer the other day in a shop.
Quoted that in fastest sports mode the tranny can change gears in 65 milliseconds!
You puny humanoids can't do that now can ya!?
Kiera Wilson's air shifting drag GTR setup wouldn't be anywhere near that quick.
Suck on them apples boys
That's why we can go faster in a straight line - YAY 4 US !!
Slushbox for the win!
GEE :D

Drag off the line - Auto
Around a track - Manual
Top end speed - Manual (different gearing)

A recent track day springs to mind where a slushbox killed all the other Supra manuals round the track. Yes, it had more power bus still ;) And, how quickly do yee forget that the Supra tranny has a full sick manual mode where you do the shifting and the trans stays in whatever gear you tell him to.
Also, a couple years back an Autosalon car of the year Supra (auto) with approx. 550hp at the wheels was the third fastest car round a race track when compared against modded S15's, WRXs and even an NSX (from memory) The two first cars where 10second R32s!
Finally, from the US of A, where another car magazine ("Road and Track" or something) tested a stock auto Supra against other stock American 'sports' cars (i.e. Corvette, M'stang etc.) around a track and the Auto Supra blitz them also!
BUT, like cat po-po boy (reepster) says, it all depends on your driving stylez and what the intended purpose of the car is. Personally, I like to lay the boot in, sit back and relax as I watch in my mirror the poor manual dropping back with each and every gear change. :bleh:
NEVER underestimate teh auto for teh winna! :)

the 6 speed supras are more sought after, i think it would be easier to sell a 6 speed supra than an auto supra so its good in that way. and unless ur running a high stall built automatic, the 6 speed would get off the line better at stop light drag compared to auto tt. whats the stock stall on tt auto? 2200rpm?

Both Auto and Manual are great, just depends what your preference is. Some say driving an auto is boring, and as so it can be, but driving a manual in peak hour, start 'n stop, traffic is a PITA too.
Also, how often would you get out on a 'proper' track? Because I certainly don't consider racing around side streets with spoon drains etc a 'track' of any description.
Now, have a good long think back and tell me that 99.9% of the times that you've given your baby a thrashing, in an attempt to outpace your 'competitor', that it wasn't in a straight line! :bleh:
2200-2400rpm a stock TT will spool to before trying to break traction. YES, the TT auto does kick back when needed too.
I also completely agree that the manual has a better resale value which is great for me because I can pick up a newer/cleaner auto for less :)

shyt it went up $1700 bucks from start off price!
well done!
$2700 winning bid, u went over ur budget by 700! i hope its perfect running order, as would you, did u speak to the seller via phone or anything prior to bidding? i spose $10k for a running tt 6 speed cut in half doesnt seem to bad, as you know the car is runnign well before before hand as opposed to buying used parts with no history. Your 1/4 of the way there to equalling this alternative option!. id think that youll most likely end up paying around the 10k once ur converted to full tt 6 speed specs, so i guess in a attempt by many of us to try and budget build a supra to tt or na-t specs, that 10k spent is inevitable in a sense. do you know wether its ok to use the 4.08 differential, considering the 6 speed factory TT's use 3.27. its a big difference. anyways, nice to see ur actually going ahead with it all. i will follow ur project with enthusiasm noting all the receipts, lol, to see if i find it feasible!
