Date for paintballing

Ok guys,

We need to get the ball rolling on this one ASAP!

Can we please have some suggestions for the date for paintballing?

It has been mentioned that some time in may would be a good idea? Ideally, this would be a saturday or sunday, if you can think of any other dates that might be suitable, please post up!

Cheers,

Cruise To Watch a Mallala Open Day

Alright there has been some (minor) discussion that we should do a cruise up to a Mallala open day to watch some track action and hopefully get a few of you bitten by the track bug.

The 2010 Dates for Cars & Karts Practice days are as follows;
Saturday 6th February
Saturday 27th March (Old School New Age Car Show, Melbourne F1)
Saturday 10th April
Saturday 19th June
Saturday 17th July
Saturday 14th August
Saturday 25th September
Saturday 23rd October

All of those dates listed are also listed on the Drift practice time table except for the 17th of July. So if your not into grip you can still watch some drift action.

Looking at the club events guide we have nothing on or directly around the 6th of February, the March one has the Old School New Age show on the same day so that one is out.

I think the February session might be too soon to successfully organise a club event but if there is interest what does everyone think of going along to the April one? I don't see anything close to it that would interfere with participation levels.

There is a $10 entry fee, I can't tell if it is a day session or a twilight session from the guide, if it is a day one it goes from 10am to 4pm, for a twilight session it is 5pm to 9pm,

I have never been to one of these so if anyone who has could they shout out and let us know what to expect? do they run it grip in the day and drift at night? or is it a mixed session kind of thing? (hybrid_turbo think you said you have been before?)

Discuss

PS. Got all my info for the days here

All Japan Day World Domination Tour 2010

http://www.alljapanday.com.au/ajd2010.jpg

The AJD juggernaut rolls back into town once again in 2010!

This year, we’re aiming to roll out 5 events across the nation, but of course we’re starting where it all began, in Adelaide. To try and avoid the monsoonal weather conditions of the last couple of years, we’ve moved this year’s event forward to 28 February, and we’ll be back at Wigley Reserve, Anzac Highway, Glenelg.

This year, entrants will need to pre-pay via PayPal with your application before it can be accepted (if you don’t have PayPal access, contact us and we can process your application manually), to save us the dramas of chasing up no-shows from previous years.

Aside from that, what else has changed? Ummmmm…well…not much really. It’s still $10 for entrants, free for spectators (although we’d appreciate a gold coin donation), and all profits raised from the Adelaide event this year will go to the Cancer Council SA.

For more information about the event and to enter this year, check out our website – www.alljapanday.com.au – and follow the relevant links.

The event is only about six weeks away, so don’t dilly-dally, fiddle-faddle or piss-fart around, entrant numbers are limited so it’s first-in first-served!

We look forward to seeing you all again this year, let’s make this one huge!

Cheers

SA Supra events for 2010

** upcoming SA Supra events / motorsport / interesting days for 2010 **

For 2010 there will be one official club cruise (January 10th) before the club Annual General Meeting in March. It will be up to the next Events team (whoever they will be) to organise the cruises for this year.

In previous years there have been club cruises alternating with pub meets. These were supposed to have occurred at the end of every month with the club cruise on a suitable day on the last weekend of that month, and the club pub night (which invariably turns into a car park meet and show) on a weeknight (dinner) or weekend day (lunch) in the last week of the alternate month. The previous event planning group was aware that not everyone could make each and every cruise, but intended to give our members as much notice as possible so that they could reschedule (work, rosters, holidays, family commitments) to participate in the club's events.

ANNUAL BEN SIMPSON MEMORIAL CRUISE

Members of SA Supra are specifically invited to attend the .....(this taken from the NS.com forum some of the "driving instructions" are specifically for their younger members"

ANNUAL BEN SIMPSON MEMORIAL CRUISE

On the 1st Feb 2010 it will be 5yrs since we lost our much loved Ben (dr1ft_pig13). To celebrate his life and membership of this forum we hold an annual memorial cruise, we usually raise money for an associated charity. This year have planned it differently, we will NOT be collecting/asking for donations (the cruise maps will be provided free).

If you have lost a someone recently (no matter how they died) and wish to cruise in their honour please buy a wide ribbon in their favourite colour, write their name on it & attach it to your windscreen wiper.

As this event is always held very close to the anniversary of Ben leaving us it is a difficult time & we ask you to respect our wishes in relation to this cruise/event.

•It will be a relatively short (approx 1.5hrs) leisurely paced cruise, it will pass across the hills face but there will be no intense windy/slider type roads.
•There will be only one cruise group, slowest & fastest all in the same group.
•If your intention was to come & slide....stay home.
•It your car is currently defected & by reasons of the defect unable to be driven, don't bring it.
•As we will not be collecting any $$ it will not be classified as a "charity cruise", therefore I can not write letters for permits
ALL types of cars and drivers are most welcome.

The cruise will be concluding at a GO KART track where Softy will be accepting challengers in the HT.net Grand Prix. This is where you can display your driving "skills" - for those who want to go karting it will cost a max of $25 for 15 laps (10mins).

Come and join us remember those who have left this world long before their time.

DATE: SAT 30TH JANUARY 2010
TIME: 6PM MEET for a 7PM CRUISE START
WHERE: CNR GOLDEN GROVE ROAD & JACK HIGH LANE RIDGEHAVEN

Domestic VS Import Dyno Day: Feb 13 - $30

Entries for the 2010 Domestic VS Import dyno day are now open!

http://www.toyotacarclub.net/events/domvsimp/

This is a Domestic vs. Import dyno competition.
We have limited entries to 48; 24 Domestic and 24 Imports - then using the top 20 scores from each side to decide the winner.
Big V8 Holdens, XR6 Turbo Fords vs. the masters of boost; Toyota Supras, Nissan Skylines and Mazda’s best rotaries.

We will be only accepting the top 20 entries from each side and I'm sure it'll be worth watching as some of the highest powered cars from both sides compete for overall honors as they all try to prove the age old question; who is king?

The cost of the event is $30, this is to cover the dyno; the event is not for profit. (We are hosting it because it's cool, no other reason)

Please apply at; (even if you *think* you dont make enough power, we will let you know if do; no cost until accepted)

This event is also one of the first events to be held at the new Boostworx workshop, so check the address before heading down there!

Paintball

Ok people, heres the deal:

Its starting to warm up, the weather is beautiful in Adelaide (of course ) and its high time we got a big group together and did something that wasnt quite Supra related. So on this note i bring to your attention that the club has come into possession of 20x vouchers for Paintball. These vouchers cover the cost of equipment hire for the day at the designated Paintball field.

It has been discussed with the committee that these are going to be used for Club Purposes. So what this means is that if your keen, the club will cover the cost of your equipment hire for the day providing you pay for what ever paintballs you use (if your anything like me, that could be a fair bit!).

At this stage, i am after a show of interest, basically who would want to come. When we get closer to the day (yet to be decided) Financial members will be given priority over non financial members (for obvious reasons) but will effectively be working on a first in first served basis.

So hand sup who wants to go paintballing!

Obviously the more the better and id love it if we could use all 20 vouchers in one visit, with nothing but SAS Members!

I will post up the more specifics when i get home tonight, outlining location, cost of paintballs any extras you may need etc.

Hey everyone, we have been invited to the Extreme Horsepower show at the showgrounds 31st of October.

I'll be getting a fax to confirm all the details but I think the entry cost is about $30, You recieve a free pass with this so you can bring a buddy along.

Concidering that they (the organisers) went out of their way to invite us I'd love to see us come out in force, Toyoshow just dosen't seem to be happening so lets jump on this.
I believe there will be an indoor and outdoor section. Indoor for all those taking it a bit more serious, and those that are just proud of there ride and want to display without being with 'the big boys' can park out the front.
I'll be inside with Sonia at least at this stage but would like to have a bit more company.
Killa, your up for this one! Dragosani, I would really like to see you inside with us as your car is a perfect example of a well maintained stock Supra (tastful mods).

GazzaNats show at AIR

hi guys,

the organisers of the Gazza Nationals have invited SA Supra to display our cars as a club at the upcoming GazzaNats on the October 18/19 weekend. in the absence of Small Car Sunday this year, this event would be the last official big show until Toyo Show in Feb 09.

essentially they want to revive the idea of the Four Six Rotary Nationals that we used to have and give the Canberra Summernats a southern state competitor. this may appeal to those owners/spectators who would normally stay away from Autosalon and are disgruntled with the direction that Small Car Sunday / Toyo Show are going. there also looks to be more events than All Japan Day.

i'll update this post with all the flyer info, but you can find more info here: www.garymyers.com.au

* tradestands
* Meguiars Show & Shine
* BF Goodrich burnout comp
* Go To Whoa comp
* straight line super skids
* Dash for Cash
* Cruise the Track (show lap)

entrants can compete in one or more categories

Saturday 18/10 open for spectators 10am-11pm
Sunday 19/10 open for spectators 9am onwards
trophy presentations from 5pm Sunday

Adult spectator entry $25/day or $45 weekend pass
Children $10/day, $15 weekend pass
Family of four $60/day or $110 weekend pass

it's unclear at this stage if they will be running official drags on the newly resurfaced AIR drag strip, but we can hope & pray! Reaper may make his debut here...

the general car display fee does appear a bit steep at $170 per entry, but the organisers have assured me that we would get a club discount (TBA) and the club exec have agreed to subsidise our entry fees this year.

we also have the option of hiring a pit garage / marquee (6x6m or 6x9m) for the weekend so the club committee will look at paying for this if we have enough entrants. i am currently negotiating with Sinergy Motorsports to have them share their marquee with us as an alternative.

there is a trophy for Best Car Club and this our opportunity to show the Ford/Holden/Chrysler what JDM muscle is all about

if you are interested, please reply here asap as the show is less than 6 weeks away.

Hey all, I'm pleased to advise that the next SAS event is just around the corner!

After the hype and get ready for Auto Salon, this promises to be a great interactive yet casual evening. Centrally located, it will be an opportunity to catch up with your fellow clubbies and their partners for a meal earlier in the evening, followed by a social night of billiard/pool in a licensed pool hall till the wee small hours.

The Plan:
Dinner at:

As most of you may remember, the sad news of Renee's passing was brought to everyone's attention about this time of the day last year.

I would like to hopefully get a group of us together for a meal at the Alma or something after work one day next week to remember that lovely smile and chirpy voice of hers.

Would anyone else be interested in doing this besides myself?

Maybe next Wednesday night from 6pm onwards and have dinner around 6.30pm?

Throw your ideas forward.

If you're all wondering how I'm coping, I'm going quite ok considering. The memories are like they happened yesterday, so it hasnt really faded in my mind, but more been put at the back of my mind so I can continue to cope and function normally.

I miss her heaps but we cant bring her back, so lets think of the fun times that were had and go from there

AutoSalon 08

O.k. so I'm starting to get a bit unsettled about AutoSalon looming around the corner. I know it's still 3 months away but it's ONLY 3 moths away. Just want to get the ball rolling, say a head count? Who's up this year? What's on the cards? Do we have any ideas of a theme for this year? I'll start.

Things on the go:- Scissor Doors
- Body Repairs
- Change spoiler
My first thought for a theme is a race track theme. Old tyres or maybe bails of hay?? Or what about a car park theme. If we get in early enough with a floor plan we might get off the back wall and out more to the middle.

NIGHT CRUISE - Friday June 6th

MEET POINTS

STAGE 1 - 6.00PM (6.30PM Depart) Etsa Stadium Car park (Normal spot)
STAGE 2 - 8.00PM (8.30PM Depart) Botanical Gardens Car park, Hackney Road

Cruise routes will be given out on the night. The cruise will be ending further up North though.

The Botanical Gardens car park is located right on Hackney Road, just after North Terrace (When heading North). It's the angled car parks that run along the side of Hackney Road. It's especially important that you be punctual with these meet points and get there on time to ensure we leave on schedule. We can't afford to wait for everyone to show before we leave. Be there on time though, and you'll be right!

Right, it's that time again. The next cruise will be a night cruise on Friday June 6th. Rough time of departure (To be finalized...) will be a 6.30pm, meet for a 7.00pm roll out. (Route TBA. Route for stage 1 will be urban, obviously. Stage 2 will more than likely be up Lobethal way, due to the better quality of the roads and most peoples familiarity will them, all still up in the air at the moment though!)

As you may have read, it will be a 2 stage cruise involving some posing and a hills cruise. Basically, there will be an initial meet point where everybody intending to drive in stage 1 will meet. We will then depart and drive a city route before meeting in another location and rendezvousing with all those who want to come for the hills drive. You can come to one, both or none. Up to you!

What I need from you is a rsvp in regards to attendance and also, please advise me which stages of the cruise you plan on coming on. This can be finalized closer to the date but knowing who will be coming to the meet points will be especially important as we won't have as much time to gather and depart due to have multiple meets.

LIST OF ATTENDEES
1. Supralicious (Both stages)
2. Wookie (Both stages)
3. Concetpz (Both stages)
4. Celius1 (Both stages)
5. Conceptz Skyline (Both stages)
6. Matty (Stage 2)
7. STika (Stage 1)
8. Supra-chick (Both stages)
9. Nix and co (TBA)
10. Karma (Both stages)
11. MA70 Danny (Both stages)
12. Paradox667-MA70 (Both stages)
13. IcE (Both stages)
14. PHANTOM (Both stages)
15. FUBAR (Stage 2 only)
16. GTR (Both stages)
17. Commonwhore (Both stages)
18. StueyP (Both stages)

Due to the fact that this is a night cruise, we will be especially hard on any kind of irresponsible behavior. I'm sure you can appreciate the added dangers involved with driving at night in the hills. If your unsure of the club policy in regards to this, please refer to this thread - http://www.sasupra.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=64. Having said that, I'm sure all of you will respect these risks and it will turn out to be a great night of cruising!

This cruise is being organized by Wooks and myself. If you have any questions feel free to shoot me a PM or post in the thread. Please keep off topic banter to a minimum! (Unless your Merc, in which case a random, long-winded, hilarious post is mandatory.) I've probably forgotten to put something in here so be looking out for an edit.

Thanks very much!

Help plan the first night cruise!

Yo!

The next cruise in planning is more than likely going to be a night cruise. A first for SASupra! (I think )

For obvious reasons, a cruise at night will vary quite a bit from a Sunday drive as we're accustomed to. Because of this, I'd like for everyone to put down some of their preferences in the questions above, so we can try and get as many people out as possible! This poll will be run for a week or so before the date and sign-up lists are posted!

Feel free to post any questions you have.

-Tom

Note. If you have no real intention of joining the cruise (For whatever reason), don't bother polling. If you think you might be interested on the other hand, have a say so the cruise can be to your liking!

Cruise for a Cause

Posted on behalf of Skye :-

Quote

Hello everyone

I am very proud to announce that with the help of Kat and Pretty Motor Sport , we will be holding a cruise for a cause.

However, this isn’t the typical PMS cruise for a cause where we raise money for breast and ovarian cancer

This time we have decided to raise money for testicular and prostate cancer. We, as part of the drift community care very much about the boys that keep it alive and happening… so much so that we have decided that it is time to do something for them.

Testicular cancer is most common in men aged between 15 to 35 years old, yet this form of cancer is one of the most treatable with a higher survival rate.

As many of you may know Christian suffered from this type of cancer just last year. At 26, I know it was definitely the last thing that he ever thought he would have to deal with.

Through this cruise we hope to educate as many guys as possible that this is the most common cancer in young men and hopefully urge them to not only take care of themselves, but also know there is a support network for men facing this situation.

So what can you do?

Help Pretty Motor Sport raise money and awareness at:

ETSA Park on

8th June 2008

11am for meet and 11:30/12pm leave

We will be having a cruise through the hills followed by a tour of the Birdwood motor museum. The cost, instead of being $9 per person, will be $6.50 per car. That will include the driver and any passengers for just $6.50 and we will also be able to park our cars on the grounds and not in the street.

This is very dear to my heart, as I’m sure most of you all already know. There may be someone you may know that has gone through the same situation.

So please, show your support and come and donate

I look forward to seeing you all there.

As with all megacruises, there will be alot of cars, therefore we expect everyone to be on their best behaviour!
HOONS will not be tolerated, the police ARE notified of the cruise, and as with all our previous MEGACRUISES, it has gone smoothly - so lets keep it that way!!!

As for people paranoid about defects, we don't want to hear about it.
In the 8 years i have been running nissansilvia.com police have never targeted our cruises to defect our members.

I think the key reason for this is because we run some of the tightest, most professional cruises in SA, and most importantly we are a group are car enthusiasts, not a bunch of hoons!.

and remember..... how do MEGACRUISES GET BIG>?>????

WORD OF MOUTH!!! WE NEED YOU TO HELP US!

GIVEN THE SHORT NOTICE WE WANT YOU TO TELL EVERYONE, AND GET THE WORD OUT!

annual SA Supra sound off

MarveyTech will be continuing the SA Supra sound off as an annual event and is hosting this year's event on Saturday May 10th. An SPL competition will be held at the MarveyTech workshop (two lane dB Drag Racing style - format TBA) and will be combined with our Autumn Dyno Comp at Morpowa nextdoor. This provides the club with its second Dyno Day event for the year and gives our members (and the general public who are interested in Supras) an opportunity to see two different types of kilowatt events with the usual club bbq and drinks available.

SPL comp & car audio display + Autumn dyno day
MarveyTech + Morpowa workshops
14 Famechon Crescent, Modbury North

You'll have an opportunity to see/hear what audio systems have been installed in member's Supras as well as witnessing what they can do on the dyno. with Andy's and Darren's high flowed twin equipped cars coming on line very soon, i suspect that my dyno record is about to fall...

Show & Shine - 10 Feb

Yep, apparently gluttons for punishment, Damo and I are entering the 27th Annual Steet Machine Assoc. Show & Shine this weekend...10 Feb 08.

Details at http://www.smasa.com.au/

The show is open to all makes; my concerns about being a couple of Japanese roses amongst a bunch of thorny Aussie and Yank muscle cars were put to rest by one of the show organisers, who has assured me there is a good representation from the 'import' community.
Contrary to their site info, she also advised that entries for judging will be accepted at the gate up to 9 a.m.

Sooo...Who else wants to come play? - I know Wookie will be in!

Around 140 confirmed entries to end of last week - we may not be ultra competitive, but it could be a good comparison to last weekend?

"Since Ben (aka dr1ft_pig13) left us on 1st Feb 2005, we have held a memorial cruise on/near the date, to raise awareness of youth suicide. The cruise has out grown the origional starting point. Those who went last year will remember what it was like, some 130 cars trying to park in a space for 90. So we are going to move it from its sentimental start location.

It has now been CONFIRMED...it will be held on the holiday Monday 28th Jan . Apologies to all those who are going to Melbourne & Murray Bridge but the following 2 week-ends are already taken by other events. For those new to NS.com....you are most welcome to participate in this special charity cruise.

Location: ETSA Park
Time: 1pm meet
Donation: Gold Coin going to the White Wreath Assoc for Youth Suicide Education
Tradition: A Teddy Bear on an empty seat in your vehicle

2007 SA Supra Club Christmas bbq

with Christmas less than a month away, we thought we'd sneak the club Xmas bbq in before everyone gets caught up in the holiday rush or goes away for the school holidays.

When: Saturday December 8 from 12pm-6pm.
Where: Bonython Park, enter off Port Road opp the Coca Cola factory.

yes, we know that the Extreme Horsepower show is on that weekend, but it doesn't look like we're having a club display there this year and no one we know is entering the dyno comp. best thing to do is go to the show in the morning, then come along to the bbq for lunch!

we'll be at the same place as last year's Xmas bbq. there is a big bbq with lots of shade and there is ample parking (flat and lowered car friendly) near the orchard where the police horses graze. partners, family and children welcome. the kids can say hello to the horses while the adults can look at all the Supras in the carpark.

details of food and drink TBA by the club exec. BYO alcohol.
club cruise beforehand is optional

Ok, here is the situation.

Mon Oct 29 = Annual Track Day (John Bowe high performance driving course)
Nov 9-11 = Small Car Sunday 2007

I'm proposing a pub night on Tuesday 6th November?? However, this leaves little time to prepare for SCS, so perhaps it should be used as a final check that SCS plans are going well, rather than a meet to discuss what will be happening??

Anyhoo - what do you all think? Who is interested?

I think Darren suggested a pub Glenelg way - any ideas? Issues with parking, access and the people in blue...

Express interest and suggestions here.
seeing as AS is over and done with now, i spose that we should all start focusing our attention on the next up and coming car show. I was kinda absent for the AS organisingation, but it seemed like there was a little bit of a lack of planning involved? Correct? If so, wouldn't now be the best time ever to start planning for SCS which is in ohhh two months

SA Supra - September Cruise

Hey Supeoples,

It's that time again - fill your tanks and polish your panels for those cruise photos you all love so much.

As the majority of you will know, a much loved member of the SA Supra community, Nays (-MsMA70-) passed away not too long ago. Nays was a great friend, both in person and online, to many of our Supra loving group.

The SA Supra September 07 Cruise, which I hope to make an annual event in Nays' memory, will be a fundraiser to make any inroads we can towards Mick (Nays' best friend, -MsMA70s Mechanic-) preventing Nays' pride and joy from going to auction.

Stikasupra has kindly offered to knock up some memorial stickers available for purchase on the day. I'd really like the club as a whole to make an effort to get along to the cruise and make a contribution if possible.

Please keep an eye on the details below, as I'm in the process of formulating a route. I'm posting this today to give people as much notice as possible.

I'd love to see 30 or more of Adelaide's hottest Supras come out for some fun in the sun and support a cause close to many of our hearts.

Cheers y'all.

SPRING Schnitter - Tues, 4/9 @ The Alma from 6pm

Hello All,

Spring is upon us (at least in the southern hemisphere) so let's get out to a beer garden or 3 eh?

Next pub night is at The Alma, 66 Magill Road, Norwood - in the beer gardeny bit. Starting around 6.

Don't worry, there is unlikely to be any Crows in residence if that is likely to offend you. There weren't any last time (not that I would know a Crows players if he bit me on the arse but anyway).

All sorts of folk rock to these events so don't feel as though you have to be a regular, numbers usually swell to about 20 so you won't be stuck just talking to me and Andy (no one would want that I'm sure!).

Bring partners please as this breaks up the testosterone (and gives Dianna an out from all the car talk ).

Car park is slammed Supra friendly from what I remember last time.

Cheers folks, cya there,

Toyota VS Nissan Dyno Shootout!

The first, annual Toyota VS Nissan Dyno competition.

http://www.turbo-a.net/tcc/toyota-vs-nissan-dyno-flyer.gif

At 10AM the first car will roll onto the dyno. The first make will be determined by a coin flip.
A Toyota will run the dyno, then a Nissan, then a Toyota, then a Nissan etc until all cars have run.
If 1 make runs out of car, the other make can continue to run cars till the 5:00 cut off.
The total will be cumalative, with the highest run counting per car. 2 runs will not be counted. Cars will only be 'spun up' once per run.

Entry is $40 for all makes, however there is a $10 discount for ToyotaCarClub.net members. (memberships will be taken on the day)

So, which is better? Toyota or Nissan?

SA Supra & VIC Supra potential meet

Howdy All,

I received a PM from a member of the Victorian Supra Car club. We are discussing a possible SA/VIC meet.

How many people would be seriously interested in attending?

From a timing perspective, I’d say it would be over summer – possibly Christmas holidays and the possible meet points would be somewhere about 450 km from both Adelaide and Melbourne. Ideas mentioned thus far were Mildura (they have paint ball SA vs VIC style) or Mt Gambier/Coonawarra/Robe.

If the number stack up, then we will go to the next step and investigate options, costs etc.

Cheers

SA Supra Club Events for 2008

** upcoming SA Supra events / motorsport / interesting days for 2008 **

For each month of 2008 there will be a club cruise alternating with a pub/car park meet. These will generally occur at the end of every month with the club cruise on a suitable day on the last weekend of that month, and the club pub night (which invariably turns into a car park meet and show) on a weeknight (dinner) or weekend day (lunch) in the last week of the alternate month.

The event planning group appreciates that not everyone can make each and every cruise, but we do intend to give you as much notice as possible so that you can reschedule (work, rosters, holidays, family committments) if you want to participate in the club's events. With plenty of notice, the oft heard excuses of "I'm working that day/night before... I can't make it / can you shift the date for me?" will only be to your own exclusion.

MKIII Birthday

Has anyone thought of celebrating July as "The Supra Birthday Month".

It occured to me that Toyota thought it significant enough to call the very first Supra a "1986.5 Supra". (The only Soop to carry that specific year description).

Some one could find the actual date of the first release and we could observe that day with great respect and maybe a cruise where the MkIII's fill the front spots. (Basically a Heritage style theme).
I'm imagining each July becoming a month long series of events (Maybe one a week or even more) that could build over time as a special month for informing members and non-members alike about all things Supra.
Maybe even a subtle July recruitment drive.(Nothing too gaudy but something very classy and hip)

There are numerological reasons why that date is significant as well. ( I can outline those if anyone wants to know)
The whole exercise could be very uplifting.

Cheers
Billy

Hello Clubbers,

Well last time we gathered to eat meat and drink beer was a while ago down at The Alma.

We haven't been here yet so let's make it happen.

Maid & Magpie hotel, corner of Payneham/Magill/ & Fullarton Roads.
Is it Kent Town or Norwood, or even Stepney? I dunno, but you know where it is. Been done up in recent years so this is not some crusty shitehole.

I guess people will start lobbing around 6ish. I won't be able to make it until after the kidlets are tucked into beddy so I'll show around 8 I guess.

ALL welcome - last one was great fun. Some 20? maybe showed. The hard part is getting enough air time with everyone!

Would be good if some of the webby regulars could show too, ie. don't come online Tues night, get down to the bloody pub mate!

Look forward to seeing you all there, not sure how the food is but I don't give a bugger, more interested in the beer and communing wit ja' peoples!

Cya then,

Cruises for Causes

Greetings from sunny South Africa. Back here for a few weeks - see y'all late May.

Posting on behalf of Courtney from NS - there's a couple of 'Cruises for Causes' coming up peoples. I'm waiting on some more details in regards to the specific charities, but here ya go...

I know a few of you attended last year, so it'd be great if we could roll out in big numbers again.

Fight for Life: Sunday 20th May 07
Meeting Point: Santos Stadium Car Park
Meeting Time: 11am
Cruise Donation: $10 per car

Cruise for a Cause: Saturday 13th October 07
eting Point: Santos Stadium Car Park
Meeting Time: 11am
Cruise Donation: $10 per car... or as a new addition this year, they're holding a ball that night with prizes, auctions, a live dj and stacks more - cost and venue TBA.

Quote

'Fight for Life' is a charity cruise dedicated to my closest friend dlike a sister to me. She is 21 and was diagnosed at a young age with parkinsons, an now the mediaction is not working an she has gone down hill very fast an had to give up close to all work an alot of other things too.

The doctors and specialists have put her in hospital for a week doing test after test an comming up blank, so they need to send her to America asap before it gets so bad she has alot of trouble travelling, or even worse, is so bad that she can't travel long distances like America.

So in order to get her there so they can give some answers to blank questions and find a suitable medication, I have started 'Fight for Life' charity cruise, where on the day there will be auctions, raffles, a bbq and more.

Please come out for this big event an support Rachell in her fight for life an quest for answers.

Thanks again,

Courtney.

Thanks for your support peeps!

Expression of Interest- Drag Racing Trip

Guys and Girls, I have been thinking again (yes I think a lot)

Here is what I propose, I will be doing this myself but would much rather the company of my Sa Supra people on the journey.

As we all know there is no real place in South Australia for legal off street drag racing, no where to test what you car can run. I propose a 2 day trip, with our destination Calder Park Raceway. Some information about Calder Park Raceway can be found here http://www.motorsport.com.au/index.htm.

They run Friday Night Drags every week, contestant costs are $40 and you will usually get a minimum of 3 runs even on a busy night. Some people get up to 7/8 runs though. Details and disclaimer can be found here http://www.motorsport.com.au/forms/SDEntryForm.pdf.

I propose we leave at 6am on the Friday morning, stopping along the way for lunch when we reach the border. Then continue to our destination where we arrive at 3pm. Which leaves 2 hours of free time before getting to Keilor (calder park raceway) where gates open at 5pm. Racing finishes at 11pm, and I suggest we arrange a nights accomodation somewhere locally and leave the next morning after a big breakfast.

Date at this stage will be November 9th and 10th, a couple of months after Autosalon to recover some money and maybe buy some drag slicks

I am happy to organise this if there is interest, however dont want to be stepping on any event co-ordinators toes here. So if someone wishes to take over feel free and I will help however I can.

Gav, Kim, Big Jon, Andy, Darren, Tefe, Sam, Wookmeister, George im looking at you boys. Lets make this happen. This is not just for the TT's by any means, I would love to see the NA boys hammering it down the 1/4mile and blowing off commodores.

Also, big jon you seem pretty close to the other mkiii boys. Please extend this invite to them because my opinion they are just as important to SA Supra as any of the mkiv's.

SA Supra Event Coordinators for 2007 / 2008

hi all.... this is just a post that loco had put up but i accidently deleted.... so here it is....

Howdy Supra peoples,

As a result of the SA Supra Annual General Meeting (18 March '07), we have a few new appointments in the world of Event Coordinating.

As opposed to me handling all events on my own (trust me, it's a LOT of work), Wookie (Ryan) has been appointed as another Events Co-ordinator.

Our role is to oversee all SA Supra events, with a focus on the big shows such as Toyoshow, Autosalon and Small Car Sunday. We'll also spend our time looking into potential track days, sound off events, dyno days, family days and other such outings.

In addition to the Wookster's appointment, we've also added two new positions in an effort to bring you guys and girls more of what you want - CRUISES!

To this end, Hardy (Michael) and Fubar (Nuno) have been appointed as Area Events Coordinators. What does that mean? It means Hardy is going to be running the Northern based cruises and Fubar is taking care of the South.

The upshot of all this is more cruises, more often as well as more resource for large event co-ordination.

Another change to the forum will be in regards to the ability for members to post cruises. In the near future, ALL potential cruises will sit in an 'invisible' que until one of the above four committee members OKs the thread. From there - hey presto - it appears for all to see. This functionality was suggested to help clean up the events section and prevent double booking, general confusion, 'unwanted attention' etc etc.

I'm currently working on a standard cruise template you guys will be able to fill in when submitting a cruise thread - ie. Date, Meet Location, Meet Time, Roll Time, Destination etc. Keep an eye out.

In the near future, we're also looking at putting together an online calendar functionality that will highlight ALL events well ahead of time in an easy to read format to help members stay on top of all dates.

As you can see, we've made and continue to make some BIG changes to how we run things here in events land, and it's all with a view to giving you guys exactly what you want - more events!

Any feedback is welcome - just hit one of your friendly neighbourhood events committee peeps with a PM and we'll see what we can do.

Keep cruisin' y'all.

Cruise and AutoSalon

Hey I'm James and I'm a new member to this board.

I've got an orange 1993 Supra (rego: 'NOTATOY') which is being worked on visually at the moment (re-trimmed interior, exterior paint, stereo, soon to come rims etc)

Now as I'm new to the forum I just wanna know what's supposed to be happening with the next club cruise? I've had a look in the pinned thread and found out that it's either going to be on the 3rd or the 17th of March, and the voting is still going. So does that basically mean it WILL be on the 17th? Or is something else being re-organized?

Also can someone give me some info about whether this club is entering in the AutoSalon this year? I will be entering my car regardless, but if the club is entering I'd prefer to enter with everyone else.

Post back in this thread with info please

At the least it'll be me and Andy, prob. Kim and Georgio Armani too maybe. If you think we suck then don't come!!

Its celcius1 here with more details about the next cruise, Okies now for the basic run down of the cruise.

The route will be as follows, this is only a basic outline as i'm still mapping it out in my spare time between work and friends.

We start from Parafield Bunnings, there will be a short meet for the Southern Crew to meet up at Marion Bunnings, and then head over to Parafield. Approx 11am leave from Parafield the cruise will head out to Gawler, avoiding main rds. Then the course will head towards the barossa valley.

As the cruise goes thru the barossa valley each stage checkpoint will be at a winery, there will be a total of at least 5 stops, and at stop 3 will be lunch. Plans are for a BBQ lunch with members attending pitching in at least $5, which includes a few snags, chop or steak, and a drink. During lunch I will be taking pictures of People with there rides, for a possible cruise book, as a souviner of the super cruise, and to help promote the club.

After lunch the Rally continues and the winners given prizes, One will be for best time, One will be for best average distance, One will be for most landmarks spotted. After lunch at stop 3, the cruise will head back continue on through the barossa valley stopping at the nescary checkpoints, at stop 5 all forms used to keep track of noted landmarks will be handed in and the cruise will make its way back into lyndoch, ETA of 6pm where we stop at the Lyndoch Restaurant for dinner, and after dinner we make our way home, after one full day of cruising.

this is the plan for the SA Supra Super Cruise, About half of it is still in the TBA stage

So people let me know what you think and if u think you can help with some aspects, let me know, also due to the full day nature of the cruise, I will be planning it for a saturday so the 3rd and 17th of march is a go, the other sat's in march are aswell, but that is upto whats best for the members

Celcius1

P.S. I have edited out of the post any reference to the drag comp, it now contains the course of the day with the rally.

Can we try to aim for at least 50+ people as this is a super cruise, also TEFE can you PM me as I wanna discuss with you a means of promoting this SASupra Super Cruise outside of the club

Hey guys,
I have been for a few weeks been planning a cruise, which i hope to be as the next cruise, and I thought i'd take on the challenge to organise the next one.

so far what i have planned is the next cruise destination will be in lyndoch, and a few stages of cruising, just like the last cruise, all we need to work out is a date for it.

So guys let me know your feedback, so I can get the plans for the next cruise rolling
